Job Description

At Roush, Mr. Hancock supported development and testing of Ford's "Voodoo" 5.2L Flat Plane Crank V8 engine in the 2015 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustang. As a powertrain engineer, he conducted design, testing, and analysis of several engine components. Most notably, Mr. Hancock was instrumental in the development of the industry's first composite oil pan having an integrated windage tray, slosh baffle, and pick-up tube.

• Retrofitted and upgraded saleable spring testing equipment to meet market needs
• Developed new tool for on-head valve spring changing
• Designed and built showroom displays for new products

• Performed competitive analysis on two power transfer units (PTU) for comparison to current design
• Created a report evaluating improvements to the mfg process
• Diagnosed root cause failures on post-test PTUs to find non-conforming parts

Mr. Hancock studied Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. His coursework included practical lab experience in Fluid Dynamics, Automatic Control Systems, and Machine Design.
William was an active member in Triangle Fraternity during his time at Purdue. He was also involved in the Purdue Automotive Performance Association (PAPA).
